Flooring reflects stunning Blackpool Town Hall

We recently supplied and fitted new carpets at Blackpool’s Town Hall which included; the main stairwell, landing, committee room and chamber corridors. So a huge space!

A big team effort was required with a five man team to transport two full rolls, which weighed over 200kg each in order to complete each room in full and avoid any joins in the carpet. Getting the rolls into the town hall, up and around the stairs and set out properly to start fitting without damaging the carpet itself or creasing was a challenge in itself! 

Our team had to fit around the Town Hall’s opening hours so they could stay operational and worked at nights and weekends to ensure there was no disruption.

Westex Westend Velvet Prestige was chosen by the client due to the richness and style, whilst being able to withstand high foot traffic.

This range is available in 80 different colours  and three different weights, with the stunning Rosa Rosa colour being shown here.

The bullnose at the bottom of the stairs was particularly tricky due to the mosaic flooring on the ground floor and the Gainsborough team had to make sure the cuts were absolutely perfect.

With 80% wool the British made carpet has a gorgeously luxurious feel and maintains the colour without any fading. The 20% nylon provides the durability and “toughness” which is ideal for heavy commercial use, without any flattening.

For the Councillor’s office JHS Universal Heathers Golden Forest  was installed. This provided a carpet that was ideal for heavy footfall, low maintenance, easy to clean with sound absorption, plus anti-static and slip-resistant qualities. With 18 colours there’s plenty of choice to fit with any décor.
